It’s that time of year when we all start to marinate, sometimes ruminate, on changes that we want to make going into the next year. It’s also the time of year when I hear many people say that they feel stuck or lost.
Here are 3 Inspiring Ideas to Ignite Your Personal Growth even before the new year because, really, you can do this any time of year.
Take an inventory: Look at the last year or so, and list what you enjoyed and want more of, and what you didn’t enjoy, and want less of. For example
I loved seeing my friend Ashleigh when she came to town, I think I’m going to go see her this time.
The department I'm working in now is disorganized, and it makes my work day more chaotic and stressful. I'm going to look for openings in my old department, and in the meantime, I'm going to develop strategies to cope.
I haven't been feeling well, so I'm going to start trying to improve my health by eating more fruits and veggies.
Check something off your bucket list: Have you always wanted to go skydiving, learn to cook, or go to Holland? Start making a plan to do that. Even if it's something that you won't be able to do right away, you can get a plan together, and save money.
Collaborate: It may seem counterintuitive because it's your personal growth, but doing something big is way less scary when you have a partner in crime. Plan a girls trip to Scotland to see the castles. If you have a great partner, but you don't share a goal, you can help each other with brainstorming and ideas, and even celebrate milestones along the way.
The name of the game is to get excited, find motivation, and develop momentum. Once you ignite the fire, you will be inspired to keep going. Sometimes we need to look back to see what we want more/less of, be reminded of things we've always wanted to do, or make it fun with a friend. Whatever it takes, it's worth it. Which ideas are you going to try?
Ignite: A Year of Growth and Transformation is coming your way soon. Make sure to watch for new dates being announced within the next week.
Love and Light,
